Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has strongly criticized the United States, accusing Washington of disregarding international law in pursuit of its own strategic and economic interests.
His remarks came as Russian media reported that the US is expanding its military presence in the Middle East by sending aircraft and refueling planes to the region.
The Russian minister said Washington’s actions show that the US is only concerned about protecting its own position, regardless of the impact on the wider international system.
Lavrov also claimed that the United States wants to dominate global energy markets. According to the Russian foreign minister, Washington’s policies are aimed at strengthening US control over energy routes, supplies and market influence.
He said the US approach is pushing the world toward a situation where international laws no longer have any real place.
Moscow warns against US unilateralism
Lavrov said the United States is taking the world in a dangerous direction by prioritizing its own interests over established global rules.
He argued that Washington’s conduct reflects a broader pattern of unilateral action, where international norms are overlooked whenever they conflict with US objectives.
US increasing military power in Middle East
Russian media also reported that the United States has started increasing its military power in the Middle East.
According to the reports, Washington is continuously sending dozens of aircraft to the region, with American warplanes arriving without interruption.
Russian media further claimed that the United States is quietly sending refueling planes to Israel.
The reports said these movements are part of a wider US military buildup in the Middle East, adding to concerns about rising tensions in the region.
