A key meeting of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party was held under the chairmanship of party president Aleem Khan to review preparations for the upcoming general elections in Gilgit-Baltistan.
During the meeting, the party decided to field candidates on all seats in the June 7 elections. It was also agreed to form a parliamentary board to finalize party tickets for the electoral contest.
Aleem Khan approved the members of the election board and stated that a formal meeting of the parliamentary board would be convened soon to decide final ticket allocations. The meeting also reviewed potential candidates from other political parties and assessed their political strategies.
Party leaders expressed confidence that the people of Gilgit-Baltistan support IPP’s manifesto and claimed the party would secure a strong position in the elections. They emphasized that better governance decisions could help transform the region into a major tourism hub, adding that access to basic facilities is the right of the people just like in other provinces.
The meeting also evaluated the political influence of prospective candidates in their respective constituencies. It was decided that final approval of candidates would be given by the party’s election board.
Senior party leaders including Secretary General Mian Khalid Mahmood, Punjab President Rana Nazir Ahmad Khan, Lahore Division President Malik Zaman Naseeb, and Mian Taimoor Khalid were also present at the meeting.
