U.S. President Donald Trump has said that the ongoing tensions with Iran will ultimately be resolved through a “great deal,” while warning that military options remain available.
In an interview with CNBC, Trump stated that a ceasefire phase is nearing its end and indicated that he does not want any extension of the current truce arrangement.
He claimed that the United States is in a strong negotiating position and said that pressure on Iran has been highly effective. Trump further asserted that the situation leaves Iran with “no choice” but to reach an agreement.
Referring to military capabilities, he said the U.S. is also prepared for a military solution if necessary. He made controversial remarks claiming that Iran’s naval and air capabilities, as well as elements of its central leadership, had been “eliminated,” while adding that he had not originally intended to pursue regime change, even though he suggested the outcome amounted to it.
His comments come amid continued geopolitical tensions and ongoing diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation in the region.
