Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) prices have surged beyond the reach of ordinary citizens in Lahore, despite the official rate being set at Rs 304 per kilogram.
In the open market, LPG is reportedly being sold between Rs 500 and Rs 550 per kilogram, creating significant hardship for consumers. Shopkeepers say LPG distributors are charging arbitrary prices, making it impossible for them to sell gas at the government-fixed rate.
They have urged authorities to take immediate action against distributors and ensure that LPG is supplied and sold at official prices.
Meanwhile, citizens have expressed strong concern over the continuous rise in LPG costs. Consumers say the inflated prices are severely affecting household budgets and significantly increasing kitchen expenses.
Both shopkeepers and the public have called on the government to intervene and control LPG pricing to provide relief to consumers.
