PTI Founder Imran Khan's wife Bushra Bibi underwent eye surgery after her vision was affected, with authorities confirming the procedure was successful. She has now been shifted back to Adiala Jail after medical treatment.
According to the superintendent of Central Jail Adiala, Bushra Bibi complained of impaired vision in her right eye. The jail administration took immediate notice and arranged an examination by ophthalmologists.
During the check-up, doctors diagnosed retinal detachment in her right eye. Following the diagnosis, doctors advised immediate surgery.
Bushra Bibi consented to the procedure and was shifted to a private hospital in Rawalpindi on the evening of April 16. Before the operation, all necessary tests and medical examinations were completed to ensure her condition was stable. The surgery was performed by Professor Dr. Nadeem Qureshi and his team.
Recovery and return to Adiala Jail
After a successful operation and a one-night stay at the hospital, Bushra Bibi was discharged and shifted back to Adiala Jail. Officials confirmed that post-operative examinations and follow-up care will continue as per doctors’ instructions.
During her recovery, Bushra Bibi’s daughters and sister were allowed to meet her. According to jail sources, the meeting lasted for more than an hour, and the family expressed satisfaction with her health condition following the surgery.
PTI leadership seeks more details
PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan confirmed that Bushra Bibi had been shifted to a hospital for eye treatment.
Speaking to Samaa TV, he said he was informed about her transfer and was trying to gather more details. He added that he would comment further once complete information becomes available.
In a message on X, Barrister Gohar said that Bushra Bibi’s treatment had raised concern among supporters. He also demanded that the family of the PTI founder be allowed to meet him and suggested that he should also be shifted to a hospital if needed.
Authorities reiterated that Bushra Bibi will continue to receive follow-up medical care as advised by doctors. Her condition will be closely monitored to ensure proper recovery after the eye surgery.
