The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced updated rules for children’s B-Form, making the process more structured by age while also enabling parents to apply from home.
NADRA has announced new regulations for issuing the B-Form, the official identification document for children from birth up to 18 years of age.
The updated system outlines step-by-step requirements based on different age groups, making the process more standardized and secure.
In a major facilitation move, parents can now apply for their child’s B-Form through the Pak ID app without visiting a registration center. However, applications can still be processed by visiting NADRA offices for those who prefer in-person assistance.
No photo required for children under 3
Under the new rules, children from birth up to three years of age will not require a photograph for their B-Form. This simplifies the process for parents of infants and toddlers.
Once a child crosses the age of three, a photograph becomes mandatory for issuing the B-Form. This requirement ensures better identification as the child grows older.
Biometric from age 10
For children aged ten to eighteen years, NADRA has introduced stricter verification requirements. At this stage, it is mandatory to provide a photograph, fingerprints, and iris scan, verified through NADRA’s eye biometric system.
The B-Form serves as a crucial identification document for children, often required by educational institutions for examinations and official records.
Parents say schools frequently ask for the document, making it an essential requirement during a child’s academic journey. The updated rules reflect NADRA’s efforts to enhance security, accuracy, and convenience in identity registration.
By combining age-based requirements with digital application options, the authority aims to streamline the process while improving data reliability.
