The Punjab government has approved major reforms to simplify the domicile process across the province. The new system introduces digital processing, fixed fees, and doorstep delivery to improve public convenience.
The provincial cabinet has formally approved important changes in both the procedure and fee structure for obtaining a domicile in Punjab.
These reforms aim to make the process faster, more transparent, and accessible for citizens.
Under the new policy, the entire domicile application process will now be conducted digitally. This shift is expected to reduce delays, eliminate paperwork, and streamline the system for applicants across Punjab.
New fee structure
The government has set the total fee for obtaining a domicile at Rs550. The breakdown includes Rs200 as the domicile fee, Rs300 for the e-stamp, and Rs50 as service charges by Punjab Information Technology Board.
All payments will be made digitally through the ePay Punjab mobile application, ensuring a cashless and transparent process.
Home delivery service
In a major convenience for citizens, the government has also introduced home delivery of domicile certificates through courier services. This feature will allow applicants to receive their documents at their doorstep without visiting government offices.
Officials have confirmed that the service will soon be integrated into the Dastak App. This will further enhance accessibility by bringing domicile services under a broader digital governance platform.
The initiative reflects Punjab’s broader push toward digital transformation and citizen-friendly services.
By combining online applications, digital payments, and home delivery, the government aims to modernize public service delivery and improve efficiency.
