The Sindh government has decided to close shops and shopping malls at 8pm across the province.
According to an official notification issued on Friday, markets, shops and shopping malls will remain closed after 8pm. The decision has been taken under the fuel-saving and austerity campaign policy of the Sindh government, under which business hours have been restricted across the province.
The notification said that tandoors, milk and yoghurt shops, bakeries, medical stores, hospitals and petrol pumps are exempt from the restrictions.
Restaurants, hotels and food outlets will be allowed to remain open from 7pm to 11:30pm, as per the notification. Home delivery and takeaway services will remain unaffected by the restrictions.
Marriage halls and banquet facilities will be permitted to hold events from 8pm to 12 midnight.
All the commissioners and deputy commissioners, with the assistance of Sindh Police, have been directed to ensure implementation of these orders.
