At least two people lost their lives and 18 others were injured in rain and wind-related incidents across Punjab in the last 24 hours, while the death toll from recent rains in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has risen to 30.
Rescue officials and disaster authorities have reported widespread damage, mainly due to collapsing roofs and walls amid ongoing severe weather.
According to a Rescue spokesperson, two people died and 18 were injured in multiple rain-related incidents across Punjab. In Sahiwal, a woman and a child were injured after walls collapsed in two separate incidents.
In Sargodha, Umar Hayat lost his life, while four people were injured when roofs collapsed in two different incidents. The incidents also resulted in the death of six goats.
Rain-triggered structural collapses were reported in several other districts:
- In Chiniot, a woman died and two people were injured in two separate roof collapse incidents
- In Bhakkar, one person was injured after a house roof collapsed
- In Faisalabad, three people were injured in two similar incidents
- In Hafizabad and Multan, one person each was injured due to roof collapses
Meanwhile, in Mianwali, a bus collided with a road divider during rain, leaving four people injured. Rescue teams provided immediate medical assistance, and seriously injured individuals were shifted to nearby hospitals.
KP rains claim 30 lives since March 25
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the situation remains more severe, with the death toll reaching 30 due to rain-related incidents since March 25, according to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).
A total of 85 people have been injured, mostly due to the collapse of roofs and walls.
Among the deceased were 20 children, and five men and women each. The injured included 38 children, 11 women, and 36 men. A total of 140 houses were damaged due to the rains with 115 partially destroyed and 25 completely.

The affected districts include Bannu, Abbottabad, Kohat, Peshawar, Nowshera, Bajaur, Lakki Marwat, Kurram, Hangu, Shangla, Buner, Malakand, Upper Dir, Battagram, North Waziristan, and Tank.
The PDMA has directed local administrations in affected districts to provide relief materials to victims as soon as possible. Authorities continue to monitor the situation as weather conditions remain unstable, raising concerns about further damage.
Building collapse in DI Khan
In Dera Ismail Khan, a building collapsed at Sheikh Yousuf Base due to a combination of earthquake and heavy rain, causing extensive damage. The incident completely destroyed eight vehicles after they were buried under the rubble. The estimated financial losses exceeded Rs27.5 million.
An affected citizen has appealed to the government for immediate financial assistance, citing severe losses.
Authorities also reported that parts of a motorway collapsed in DI Khan due to the same weather conditions and seismic activity. The damage has been described as running into hudreds of thousands of rupees.

The PDMA director general has directed all relevant agencies to remain on high alert in view of the ongoing weather conditions. Citizens have been advised to stay in safe places during thunderstorms and exercise caution to avoid further casualties and damage.
