Lahore Zoo witnessed a massive influx of visitors during Eid-ul-Fitr, generating nearly Rs14.89 million in just three days. The festive rush saw record footfall across attractions, reflecting the zoo’s popularity among families.
According to a Lahore Zoo spokesperson, the total income over the three days of Eid-ul-Fitr reached close to Rs15 million. The zoo experienced a steady rise in visitors each day, contributing significantly to overall revenue.
On the first day of Eid, 20,720 citizens visited the zoo, generating an income of Rs2.72 million. The second day saw a sharp increase in turnout, with 47,855 visitors and earnings of Rs5.85 million.
On the third day, the zoo recorded the highest footfall, with 50,704 visitors and income reaching Rs6.167 million.
Popular attractions draw large crowds
Several attractions within the zoo also saw significant visitor engagement during the three-day period. A total of 5,876 people experienced the hologram feature, while 8,889 visitors explored the fish aquarium.
The snake house attracted 12,441 visitors, and the motorcycle attraction recorded 12,538 visitors.
In addition to footfall, the zoo also recorded vehicle entries during the Eid holidays. A total of 868 vehicles visited the zoo over the three days, indicating a strong turnout from families and groups.
Surge in family outings
The large number of visitors highlights the zoo as a major recreational destination during holidays. Officials say such events not only boost revenue but also enhance public engagement with wildlife and educational attractions.
