Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has announced an exciting update for fans of the popular comedy franchise Golmaal on the occasion of director Rohit Shetty’s 52nd birthday.
Renowned filmmaker Rohit Shetty has confirmed the making of a new installment in the Golmaal series, with Akshay Kumar returning to join the ensemble cast.
Alongside Akshay, original cast member Sidharth Joshi, known for his role in the franchise’s first film, is also making a comeback. The teaser shared by the team features actors Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade, Tusshar Kapoor, and Kunal Kemmu, hinting at a fun-filled family entertainer.
The Golmaal franchise has been delighting audiences for over two decades, with the first film releasing in 2006.
On March 14, Akshay Kumar shared a video on his social media accounts, offering a glimpse of the film’s set and his new look.
He wrote alongside the post, “Happy Birthday, Rohit! On your special day, this madness has gotten even bigger and louder. Thrilled to be part of Golmaal 5’s crazy family. Let the mayhem begin!”
The video shows the cast and crew busy during shooting while also teasing Akshay Kumar’s entry into the franchise. It confirms that filming has officially begun.
Sidharth Joshi reprises his iconic role, rekindling old memories with the other actors. Akshay Kumar makes a surprise entry, joining the ensemble in this new installment.
Reports suggest that Akshay Kumar has allocated 18 days from his busy schedule to shoot for Golmaal 5.
In addition to Golmaal 5, the Bollywood star is preparing for the release of his upcoming supernatural horror-comedy, Bhoot Bangla, marking another collaboration with director Priya Darshan.
