The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of Karachi successfully arrested a terrorist linked to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) during an operation in the Malir area.
The arrest was part of a joint operation conducted with sensitive security agencies, aimed at preventing imminent terrorist activities in the city.
Details of CTD operation
During the operation, CTD teams recovered a hand grenade from the arrested individual, effectively foiling a potential terror plan.
Officials stated that materials found in the possession of the accused suggest links with a neighboring country, raising concerns over cross-border terrorism.
The suspect is now in custody, and a case has been formally registered under the Explosive Substances Act at the CTD police station in Karachi.
Authorities have confirmed that further investigation is ongoing.
