A Dutch engineer, Thomas De Wolf, has built a special car for his pet goldfish, Bulb, which drove more than 40 feet in one minute to set a new world record.
The vehicle runs on four wheels and carries a water tank fitted as the driver’s seat. Sensors read the fish’s movements and steer the car accordingly. Speaking about the experiment, Thomas said that while the fish’s driving may not serve any practical purpose, the technology may in future prove useful for people with disabilities.
According to the record, Bulb travelled 40 feet and 3.46 inches in one minute, earning a place in the Guinness World Records.
Expressing his delight, Thomas said: “Now how do I explain to Bulb that it holds a world record title?”
