Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi met members of the national selection committee and assured them of complete independence in carrying out their responsibilities.
During the meeting, Naqvi encouraged the selectors to make decisions without external pressure and focus on merit.
The PCB chairman told the committee that they have his full backing while performing their duties.
He emphasized that the selectors should work honestly and professionally, adding that criticism should not influence their decisions.
Naqvi said the committee must prioritize Pakistan cricket and remain focused on selecting the best players for the national team.
Call to ignore unnecessary criticism
Naqvi advised the selection committee not to worry about criticism that comes without constructive purpose.
He said the board stands firmly behind the committee and expects them to carry out their responsibilities with transparency and integrity.
According to the chairman, the PCB leadership will support every decision made in good faith for the betterment of Pakistan cricket.
Members of the selection committee — Misbah-ul-Haq, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Asad Shafiq and Aqib Javed — thanked the PCB chairman for expressing confidence in their work.
They appreciated the assurance of independence and pledged to carry out their responsibilities with fairness and professionalism.
