Seven police personnel, including a station house officer (SHO), were martyred after an explosion struck a police vehicle during patrolling in Lakki Marwat, officials confirmed.

According to the district police officer (DPO), the explosion took place near a police vehicle in Lakki Marwat, resulting in heavy casualties among law enforcement personnel. The vehicle was targeted during a routine patrolling operation, the DPO confirmed.
The powerful blast caused significant damage and led to the martyrdom of several police officers.

The explosion also left personnel Insafuddin and Namdar injured, the police spokesperson confirmed. They were wounded in the blast and were provided medical assistance at DHQ Hospital. However, later, Namdar succumbed to his wounds during treatment, the police confirmed.
Authorities are continuing to assess the situation following the deadly incident.
Investigation underway after deadly attack

PM condemns terrorist attack
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the terrorist attack near a police vehicle in Lakki Marwat. He paid tribute to the martyred police personnel and offered prayers for their departed souls. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in the attack.
Prime Minister Sharif said that the sacrifices of police personnel and security forces will never go in vain. He reaffirmed the government’s firm resolve to completely eradicate terrorism from the country.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi strongly condemned the explosion in Lakki Marwat and paid tribute to the six police personnel, including the SHO, who were martyred in the attack.
The interior minister expressed deep sorrow and heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyred officers. He said the brave personnel of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police sacrificed their lives today for the peaceful tomorrow of the nation.
Naqvi added that KP Police officers and personnel have made countless sacrifices in the war against terrorism, emphasizing that the martyrs are the pride of the nation and their great sacrifices will always be remembered.
KP CM takes notice of blast
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has taken notice of the explosion and has sought a detailed report from the inspector general (IG) of police.
According to chief minister’s spokesperson, the martyrdom of six police personnel, including the SHO, in the incident is extremely tragic. He said the provincial government stands in complete solidarity with the families of the martyrs.
The CM has also directed authorities to ensure the best possible medical treatment for the injured, while expressing prayers for their speedy recovery.
Sohail Afridi further stated that cowardly acts of terrorists cannot demoralize the nation or the security forces.
