The Punjab government has announced extraordinary measures to address economic difficulties arising from the ongoing conflict, including suspending official fuel usage for provincial ministers until the petroleum crisis is resolved.
According to officials, petrol and diesel allowances for government vehicles have been reduced by 50 percent with immediate effect. Restrictions have also been imposed on protocol vehicles accompanying ministers and senior government officers.
Only one vehicle will be permitted for unavoidable security purposes to accompany ministers and top officials.
Government offices will adopt a work-from-home policy, with only essential staff required to report to the office.
Educational institutions, including schools, colleges, and universities, will remain closed from March 10 to March 31. Examinations will continue as scheduled, and schools and universities are allowed to conduct online classes during this period.
