Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi said on Saturday that the provincial government had made it clear to the federal finance and petroleum ministers that the burden of inflation would not be placed on the people of the province.
Speaking to the media, Afridi said he had plainly told the federal finance minister and the petroleum minister during a meeting that the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would not allow additional financial pressure on its citizens.
He said the provincial government had reduced its own expenditures and urged the federal government to curb its lavish spending as well.
“We oppose policies, not personalities,” the chief minister said.
CM Afridi said that a force would soon be formed for the release of the party’s founder.
The chief minister made these remarks while speaking to the media during the opening ceremony of the National T20 Cricket Tournament in Peshawar, adding that it was a day of happiness as cricket had returned to the city.
