Rumours circulating on social media about the health of renowned Bollywood filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali sparked concern among fans, but his team has firmly denied the claims and clarified that he is in good health.
Media reports had alleged that the director suffered a heart attack on his 63rd birthday and was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai for treatment. The reports quickly spread online, prompting widespread speculation about his condition.
However, a statement issued by Bhansali’s team rejected the claims as false and reassured the public that the filmmaker is safe and healthy.
Bhansali is widely regarded as one of Bollywood’s most distinctive directors, known for his visually grand storytelling and signature cinematic style. He began his directorial career with the film Khamoshi:
The Musical, while blockbuster successes such as Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Devdas earned him international recognition.
Separately, noted music composer Ismail Darbar recently spoke about his professional relationship with Bhansali, reflecting on past collaborations and differences. Darbar revealed that he had worked on the web series Heeramandi for nearly a year and a half but was replaced without prior notice, a development he described as deeply disappointing.
Despite past creative disagreements over film music, Darbar noted that his relationship with Bhansali had long remained close, though the recent experience left him disheartened.
Following the clarification regarding Bhansali’s health, fans expressed relief and shared messages of support and well wishes for the celebrated filmmaker on social media.
