Pakistan’s security forces have killed 34 militants in a series of high-tempo, intelligence-driven operations carried out in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, the military said.
The operations were part of a relentless counter-terrorism campaign aimed at eliminating what authorities described as Indian proxies, including Fitna Al Khwarij and Fitna Al Hindustan.
On February 24, a total of 26 militants belonging to Indian proxy Fitna Al Khwarij were killed in four separate engagements across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
In Hassan Khel area of North Waziristan district, security forces detected the movement of a group attempting to infiltrate through the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. Troops engaged the group effectively, killing one militant identified as an Afghan national.
Operations in Lakki Marwat, Bannu
In another intelligence-based operation in Lakki Marwat district, troops engaged a militant hideout. After an intense exchange of fire, three militants were neutralized.
Simultaneously, in two separate engagements in Narmi Khel area of Bannu district, security forces eliminated 10 militants.
Acting on precise intelligence, security forces also conducted an operation in the general area of Mir Ali, North Waziristan district, where 12 militants were successfully eliminated.
The coordinated actions formed part of a broader crackdown on militant networks operating in the region.
Eight killed in Zhob
In a fifth engagement, security forces carried out an intelligence-based operation in Sambaza area of Zhob district, Balochistan. Following a heavy exchange of fire, eight militants belonging to Fitna Al Hindustan were neutralized.
Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the killed militants, who were said to be actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area.
Security forces stated that sanitization operations are ongoing to eliminate any remaining Indian-sponsored militants in the affected regions.
Commitment under ‘Azm-e-Istehkam’
The operations are being conducted under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam”, approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan.
Officials reiterated that Pakistan’s security forces remain resolute and unwavering in defending the nation’s frontiers. The counter-terrorism campaign, carried out jointly by security forces and law enforcement agencies, will continue at full pace to eliminate foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
