Pakistan will host the 327th Baisakhi Mela in April, welcoming around 3,000 Indian Sikh pilgrims under strict protocol arrangements. The annual religious festival will see pilgrims visiting key Sikh holy sites, including Nankana Sahib and Panja Sahib Hassan Abdal.
According to official details, 3,000 Indian Sikh pilgrims will arrive in Pakistan through the Wagah border on April 10. The visit is being organized under strict security and administrative protocols to ensure smooth travel and religious observances.
Authorities have finalized arrangements for their stay and movement during the Baisakhi celebrations.
Visits to Nankana Sahib, Panja Sahib
During their stay, the pilgrims will visit Nankana Sahib, the birthplace of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, as part of the Baisakhi Mela rituals.
The main Baisakhi ceremony will be held at Gurdwara Panja Sahib in Hassan Abdal on April 14, which is considered one of the most sacred Sikh shrines in Pakistan. Thousands of local and international devotees are also expected to participate in the central ceremony.
After attending the religious events, the pilgrims will stay at Lahore’s Gurdwara Dera Sahib on April 18. They are scheduled to depart for India on April 19 through the Wagah border.
The Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB), in coordination with the administration concerned, has intensified travel and logistical arrangements for the visiting pilgrims.
Officials say all necessary measures are being taken to ensure security, accommodation and transportation facilities during the 327th Baisakhi Mela.
