Three terrorists were killed in a joint intelligence-based operation carried out by CTD Bannu Region and Lakki Marwat Police, police said on Monday. The operation targeted militants linked to multiple terrorist activities in the area.
According to a police spokesperson, the operation was conducted in the Pardal Begokhel area of Sarai Naurang tehsil following actionable intelligence.
Security personnel moved in jointly and engaged the suspects, resulting in the killing of three terrorists during the encounter.
Police confirmed that one of the militants killed was Nazir, described as a highly dangerous terrorist. The other two were identified as Fawad alias Muaz and Afnan Khan Afnani, both of whom were also wanted in multiple terrorism-related cases.
Involvement in attacks on police
Authorities said the three terrorists were actively involved in several terrorist acts in the region. These included the targeted assassination of traffic police personnel, making them high-value targets for law enforcement agencies.

During the operation, police recovered weapons from the possession of the slain terrorists. Officials also seized three cards belonging to a banned organization, further confirming their links to outlawed militant networks.
Police vow continued action
The police spokesperson said the successful operation reflects effective coordination between CTD Bannu Region and Lakki Marwat Police.
Law enforcement agencies reiterated their commitment to eliminating terrorism from the district and said intelligence-based operations will continue to ensure public safety.
On Sunday, tragedy had struck Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as unidentified gunmen targeted police in Lakki Marwat and Bannu, resulting in the deaths of four officers. Authorities have launched manhunts to apprehend the attackers.
In Lakki Marwat, three traffic police officials were martyred when unknown motorcyclists opened fire while they were on duty near Sarai Naurang. The victims include Naurang Traffic Police In-charge Jalal Khan, Police Constable Azizullah, and Police Constable Abdullah.
A heavy contingent of police immediately reached the site, cordoned off the area, and shifted the martyred officials to Naurang Hospital.
