An American woman from the US state of North Carolina won a lottery prize on the day of her daughter’s birthday.
According to media reports, the day became especially memorable for Linda Rogers of North Carolina, who won a prize of $161,929.
Linda Rogers, a resident of Denton, told officials of the State Education Lottery that it was her daughter’s birthday on Saturday. She stopped at a Mobile Mart on East Salisbury Street in the city, where she bought a two-dollar The Cash Fast Play ticket.
The purchase proved fortunate, as the ticket produced a winning prize. The win on her daughter’s birthday made the occasion even more special.
She said she had hoped for such a win for a long time. She added that it would change their lives, allowing them to buy a new car and share happiness with their family. She said she still found it hard to believe.
