The security forces killed two terrorists, including a highly wanted ringleader, during an intelligence-based operation in the Kulachi area of Dera Ismail Khan district on December 24, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
ISPR said security forces launched the intelligence-based operation (IBO) on reported presence of terrorists in Kulachi, Dera Ismail Khan district. During the operation, troops effectively engaged the militant hideout. As a result, two terrorists were neutralized on the spot.
One of the killed militants was identified as ringleader Dilawar. ISPR stated that Dilawar was highly wanted by law enforcement agencies for his involvement in multiple terrorist activities.
The government had fixed head money of Rs4 million on Dilawar due to his role in terrorism.
Weapons, ammunition recovered
Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the killed terrorists during the operation. ISPR said the militants had remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against security forces.
They were also linked to the killing of innocent civilians in the area.
ISPR said sanitization operations are being carried out to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored terrorists present in the region. The security forces are ensuring the area is fully cleared of militant elements.
The military reiterated that no space will be allowed for such elements to regroup.
President, PM laud forces
President Asif Ali Zardari has praised the security forces for a successful operation in DI Khan. He said that punishing the killers of innocent civilians and security personnel was a top priority of the state.
The president added that operations against terrorists were essential for maintaining public order and strengthening public confidence in the state’s ability to ensure peace and security.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also praised the security forces for the successful operation. He said the security forces were achieving significant successes in the fight against terrorism and reaffirmed that the entire nation stood firmly with Pakistan’s forces in this war.
The PM vowed that the country will be cleansed of all forms of terrorism, paying tribute to the bravery and sacrifices of the security personnel.
