A severe fire broke out on Monday at a used clothing factory located in the Export Processing Zone (EPZ) in Karachi’s Landhi area.
The fire reportedly erupted suddenly and spread rapidly throughout the building due to the presence of highly flammable textile materials inside the factory.
Upon receiving information about the incident, multiple vehicles from Rescue 1122 and the Fire Brigade rushed to the scene, where a large-scale operation is currently underway to bring the blaze under control.
Firefighters are making intensive efforts to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby industrial units. According to eyewitnesses, thick clouds of black smoke could be seen rising into the air and were visible from several kilometers away.
The smoke has caused panic in the surrounding area, and there are concerns that traffic flow may also be affected.
Rescue officials stated that so far no casualties or injuries have been reported, which is a positive development. However, there are fears of extensive damage to the goods stored inside the factory.
