Emotional interview
In a recent interview with a lifestyle journalist, Aima Baig spoke candidly about a profoundly emotional moment connected to her late mother. She revealed that the experience occurred during the time of Fajr prayer, when she was overwhelmed with grief.
She described feeling extremely vulnerable as memories of her mother surfaced after seeing some of her belongings.
Melody born from grief and prayer
Aima shared that after offering her Fajr prayer, she tried to sleep but couldn’t stop crying. “Tears kept falling from my eyes,” she said, adding that she began crying again while remembering her mother and longing to hug her.
At around 6am, a melody and a few lyrics suddenly came to her mind. As someone who instinctively records musical ideas, Aima immediately recorded the melody, even though her voice was emotional and imperfect at the time.

The singer revealed that she had just entered the media industry when her mother fell ill. Due to work commitments, she couldn’t spend as much time with her mother during her final, bedridden days.
“I offered Fajr prayer and felt extremely vulnerable. It was a time when I was remembering my mother, and I just wanted to hug her because I had seen a few of her belongings. After Fajr, I tried to sleep, but I couldn’t because tears kept falling from my eyes. I started crying again while remembering my mom. I am the kind of person who instantly records a melody when it comes to my mind, even if my voice cracks or the recording isn’t perfect. At around 6 a.m., a few lyrics and a melody came to my mind for my mother, which I recorded. Obviously, I won’t reveal the lyrics now. I just entered the media industry when my mom got sick, I used to be at work most of the time, so, I couldn’t spend much time with her while she was bedridden. She was the one who used to send me to shows, but those were her last days," Aima said, adding that those were her mother’s last days. She chose not to reveal the lyrics of the melody yet, keeping the tribute deeply personal for now.
