A day after composer Palash Muchhal confirmed that his wedding with Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana had been called off, he quietly deleted all videos featuring her from his social media accounts.
The removed posts included the widely circulated clip of Palash proposing to Smriti at a cricket stadium.
Fans noticed on Monday that the videos of Palash proposing to Smriti and celebrating her Women’s World Cup victory had disappeared from his Instagram. Both videos were posted last month, shortly after India’s triumph in Mumbai, and quickly went viral.

The proposal took place at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, the venue of the World Cup final. The couple had been set to marry on November 24 in Sangli, Smriti’s hometown.
How the wedding fell apart
Even as pre-wedding functions were underway, media was informed on the morning of the wedding that it had been postponed indefinitely due to Smriti’s father falling ill. Soon after, Palash and his family returned to Mumbai, where he was reportedly hospitalised for stress.
Rumours quickly surfaced claiming Palash had been caught cheating with a choreographer during the celebrations. However, both choreographers present at the event denied the allegations, dismissing the speculation as unfounded.
Smriti, Palash issue statements urging privacy
On Sunday, Smriti Mandhana used her Instagram Stories to confirm that the wedding had been called off, asking fans and media to respect the privacy of both families. At the same time, Palash posted a formal statement acknowledging the cancellation.
“I have decided to move on in my life and step back from my personal relationship,” he wrote.
Addressing rumours surrounding the breakup, Palash added: “It’s been very difficult for me to see people react so easily on baseless rumours about something which has been most sacred to me. It’s the most difficult phase of my life, and I will deal with it gracefully.”
He urged the public to be mindful of unverified gossip, saying: “Our words can wound in ways we may never understand.”
