The Balochistan Finance Department has issued a notification announcing that the salaries and pensions of all Christian government employees and pensioners in the province will be paid in advance on the occasion of Christmas.
According to the notification, salaries for the month of December -- normally disbursed on January 1, 2026 -- will now be released on December 22, 2025. The decision has been made to enable members of the Christian community across the province to comfortably prepare for Christmas celebrations on December 25.
The notification states that the purpose of this move is to provide financial relief to Christian government employees and pensioners, allowing them to celebrate their religious festival in a better and more convenient manner.
It is worth noting that the federal government has already issued the list of public holidays for the current year. As per the notification, Thursday, December 25, 2025, will be a public holiday for Quaid-e-Azam Day, while Friday, December 26, 2025, will be a public holiday for Christian employees in observance of the Christmas festivities.
