The federal government has announced a reduction in the prices of major petroleum products for the next 15 days, according to a notification issued by the Ministry of Finance on Monday morning.
The new rates have been implemented with immediate effect.
According to the official notification, petrol has been reduced by Rs2 per liter, bringing the new price down to Rs263.45 per liter.
High-speed diesel (HSD) has seen an even greater reduction of Rs4.89 per liter, setting the revised price at Rs279.65 per liter.
Light diesel oil (LDO) recorded the biggest drop, decreasing by Rs7.03 per liter. The new price of light diesel now stands at Rs163.07 per liter.
Kerosene oil has become cheaper by Rs1.98 per liter, and will now be available at Rs192.36 per liter.
Rates to remain effective for 15 days
The Ministry of Finance confirmed that these prices will apply for the next 15 days under the government’s standard fortnightly fuel price review mechanism.
