Police in Lahore carried out a late-night raid on a Halloween party organized at a hotel in the Gulberg area, arresting more than 50 participants, including social activist Suzanne Khan, officials said on Monday.
According to police, the party was arranged by Suzanne Khan, a social activist, and was attended by young men and women from several areas of Lahore, including Valencia Town, Gulberg, Defence, Johar Town, and Sabzazar.
During the raid, law enforcement officials detained 31 boys and 20 girls, all of whom were present at the event. Police teams arrived at the hotel after receiving a tip-off about illegal activities at the private gathering.
Drugs, alcohol, sheesha recovered
Authorities said that sheesha, narcotics, and alcohol were recovered from the venue during the search operation. Police seized the materials as evidence and registered a case against the accused, including the event organizer.
“The raid was conducted after reports of a party involving the use of prohibited substances and violation of local laws,” a police spokesperson said.
Officials confirmed that a case has been filed against the organizer and other suspects under relevant legal provisions. The investigation is underway, and samples of the confiscated items have been sent for forensic testing.
Police said further action will be taken once the inquiry is completed and confirmed that all attendees were taken to the police station for questioning.
