The federal government has once again increased the prices of key petroleum products, further tightening pressure on consumers already grappling with inflation.
The new rates were announced in Islamabad, marking a fresh revision in the cost of kerosene and light diesel oil.
According to the latest government notification, the price of light diesel oil (LDO) has been raised by Rs1.22 per liter. This revision pushes the rate up from Rs176.76 to Rs177.98 per liter.
The government has also approved a significant increase in the price of kerosene oil, a fuel commonly used for cooking and lighting in rural areas. Its price has gone up by Rs3.34, reaching Rs185.50 per liter.
Rising costs continue to burden consumers
The increase in fuel prices comes amid a broader trend of rising living expenses. With kerosene and light diesel both becoming more expensive, transport, manufacturing, and household budgets are likely to feel additional strain.
