Authorities arrested lawyer Hadi Ali Chattha, the husband of lawyer Imaan Mazari, on Wednesday immediately after he exited the courtroom in connection with the controversial tweet case.
The case revolves around social media posts alleged to be critical of state and national security institutions.
According to initial reports, Hadi Ali Chattha was taken into custody by law enforcement officials soon after appearing before the court in Islamabad.
The arrest is linked to his alleged involvement in amplifying posts made by Imaan Mazari on social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
Officials stated that Chattha was included in the investigation for retweeting the contentious posts, which authorities have described as “anti-state” and “controversial.”
