The general elections for the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly will take place in February 2026.
According to details surfaced on Tuesday, GB Chief Election Commissioner Raja Shahbaz Khan has confirmed that the term of the current assembly and government will end on November 24.
The voter lists have been dispatched today to all assistant commissioners across the region in preparation for the upcoming polls.
Khan said that conducting assembly elections is the constitutional duty of the election commission, adding that the lists of more than 991,000 registered voters have been completed.
He announced that voter lists for all 25 constituencies of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly will be displayed from tomorrow for public inspection.
