Armed men launched an attack on a Levies checkpost in Gidar, a town in the Surab district of Balochistan, late Monday night, abducting three Levies officers before releasing two of them, police officials confirmed.
According to police, a group of unidentified armed men raided the Levies checkpost in Gidar and kidnapped three Levies officers during the assault. The abducted personnel were identified as Ghulam Mustafa, Amanullah, and Naseebullah.
The assailants reportedly took the officers away at gunpoint, prompting a swift response from local law enforcement agencies and Levies reinforcements.
Two officers released, one still in captivity
Police said the attackers later released two of the kidnapped officers — Amanullah and Naseebullah — while Ghulam Mustafa remains in captivity. He was reportedly taken to an unknown location by the abductors.
Security forces have since launched a search operation in and around the area to trace the missing officer and apprehend the culprits behind the attack.
