Security forces and police successfully foiled a major terrorist attack in the Bhagnari area of Bolan district in Balochistan on Monday.
The assailants launched coordinated assaults on multiple government installations, including a bank, two police stations, and a tehsil office, sparking intense exchanges of fire.
According to police officials, armed terrorists targeted the City Police Station, the Sadar Police Station, and the tehsil office in Bhagnari. The attackers also attempted to rob a local bank, prompting immediate retaliation from the police and security forces.
Authorities reported that the Levies Police Station sustained damage during the attack, as heavy gunfire was exchanged between the terrorists and security personnel.
Swift response prevented major losses
Police officials said the timely action of the forces successfully foiled the terrorist attempt, preventing larger-scale damage and potential civilian casualties. Despite the quick response, the confrontation led to tragic losses on both sides.
During the fierce exchange, Inspector Lutf Ali Khosa was martyred, while another official sustained injuries. Police confirmed that one terrorist was killed in the retaliatory action and two others were injured.
However, the injured terrorists were taken away by their accomplices as they fled the scene, according to police reports.
Following the attack, a heavy contingent of security forces reached the site to secure the area and pursue the fleeing attackers.
Security sources emphasized that the situation in Bhagnari remains tense, but forces are in full control and search operations are continuing to track down the perpetrators.
