A large-scale crackdown has been launched in Lahore against vehicles emitting smoke to combat the worsening smog in the city.
The City Traffic Police have deployed special teams at all entry and exit points, as well as at various key locations across Lahore.
According to the Traffic Police, commercial vehicles without fitness certificates are not allowed to enter the city. During the current month, action has been taken against more than 13,000 smoke-emitting vehicles that contribute to smog. Special teams continue to operate at the city’s entry and exit points to ensure compliance.
The Chief Traffic Officer Lahore said that no vehicle without a fitness certificate will be permitted to enter the city. This month alone, action has been taken against nearly 18,500 vehicles lacking valid fitness certificates.
