The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) announced on Tuesday its decision to part ways with the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government, saying the party would not support any ‘unnatural’ process of government formation.
According to details, the announcement came from the PML-N AJK chapter president, Shah Ghulam Qadir, who made it clear that the PML-N would now sit in opposition. He said that if the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) moved a vote of no confidence, it would be within its democratic right.
However, he reaffirmed that the PML-N would not support any move that went against its principles.
Qadir warned that any member who defied the party policy would face disciplinary action, adding that a stable government in AJK could only emerge through transparent general elections. He also emphasised that the PML-N remained active for the welfare of refugees and overseas Kashmiris.
He termed the PML-N AJK as an organised and popular political force and vowed that the party would continue to play a constructive role in resolving the constitutional and political crisis.
Qadir maintained that the PML-N would run a vigorous election campaign under the leadership of PML-N President Nawaz Sharif and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
