Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi delivered a passionate speech in the KP Assembly, pledging to uphold the trust of the people, protect their dignity, and tackle the province’s key challenges.
Addressing the assembly, Chief Minister Afridi declared, “A lion’s one-day rule is better than a jackal’s 100-year rule.” He reaffirmed his commitment to lead with integrity and strength, saying, “No matter how much power I have, I will continue to live up to the trust of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.”
Afridi emphasized that he would never allow his people to bow their heads, reiterating his determination to serve the province with courage and accountability.
Meeting with PM focused on Afghan refugees
The chief minister clarified that the prime minister’s meeting held a couple of days earlier was not about peace and security, but was instead focused on Afghan refugees.
He stated that he had sent the KP chief secretary and Muzammil Aslam to represent the provincial government at the meeting. “Our stance on Afghan refugees is clear,” Afridi said, reaffirming that KP supports the repatriation of Afghan refugees who have been living in Pakistan for 40 to 45 years.

Inflation and wheat supply: KP faces economic challenges
Highlighting the economic strain faced by citizens, Chief Minister Afridi said the people of KP are suffering from inflation due to the ongoing wheat ban. He assured the assembly that wheat supply to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will continue, and that the government is actively working to stabilize prices and reduce economic pressure on households.
Commitment to KP’s people and regional stability
In his closing remarks, the chief minister reiterated his resolve to safeguard the interests of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s citizens, both economically and socially. He assured that his administration would prioritize inflation control, maintain wheat distribution, and handle the refugee issue with dignity and balance.
Afridi concluded his address with a message of unity and resilience, promising that the KP government will not allow any challenge to weaken the spirit of its people.
