Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has granted full authority to newly-appointed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi for cabinet formation, according to party sources.
Imran Khan has dismissed the proposal to establish an advisory council in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab. The decision was conveyed to the Chief Minister with the instruction that only Sohail Afridi will run the provincial government.
Sources have indicated that no final decision has been made regarding the inclusion of any minister in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet. The rejection of the advisory council is aimed at fully empowering Sohail Afridi and Alia Hamza.
Consideration is also being given to the replacement of the Inspector General of Police and the Chief Secretary in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The new KP IG is likely to be appointed from the tribal districts of the provine.۔
