Renowned Pakistani film and television actor Mustafa Qureshi sustained a leg fracture after tripping on a broken road outside his residence in Clifton, Karachi, on Tuesday morning.
According to reports, the veteran actor was taking a walk near his house when his foot got stuck in a dug-up pit, causing him to fall and break his leg.
Actor expresses regret over Karachi’s poor roads
The incident has once again highlighted the deteriorating infrastructure of Karachi. Qureshi noted that it is not just Lyari, Nazimabad, or Liaquatabad, but even Clifton’s roads — one of the city’s upscale localities — that remain in disrepair and unsafe for pedestrians.
Residents have repeatedly voiced concerns about unpaved streets, open pits, and poor maintenance, which continue to pose serious risks across the metropolis.
Medical treatment and doctor’s advice
Following the accident, Mustafa Qureshi was immediately taken for medical treatment, where doctors confirmed a leg fracture. After his leg was put in a plaster cast, he was discharged and shifted home.
Doctors have advised the legendary actor to take complete rest for six weeks, during which he will suspend all social and professional activities to allow full recovery.
