Security forces carried out a successful intelligence-based operation in Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, killing 17 terrorists.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the terrorists were operating under Indian auspices and were involved in deadly attacks on security forces, law enforcement agencies, and innocent civilians.
Intelligence-led operation
The operation targeted a known hideout of the terrorists, which had been under surveillance. Acting on confirmed intelligence, security forces engaged the militants, bringing their campaign of violence to a tragic end.
The ISPR reported that arms and ammunition were seized from the site, preventing further planned attacks in the region.
Terrorist involvement in attacks
Those killed had a record of attacking law enforcement agencies and citizens, spreading unrest across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Their elimination marks another major blow to the Fitna al-Khawarij and their network.

Clearance operation underway
Following the encounter, a clearance operation was launched in the area to ensure no more terrorists remain in hiding. Security forces are combing the surroundings in anticipation of possible militant presence.
Resolve against Indian-sponsored terrorism
The ISPR emphasized that the armed forces are fully committed to eradicating terrorism and will continue to dismantle networks operating under Indian sponsorship.
“Security forces are determined to root out Indian-sponsored terrorism,” the statement reaffirmed, underlining Pakistan’s stance against cross-border interference and extremist violence.
Earlier on Saturday, it had been reported that Pakistani security forces killed 17 terrorists linked to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) during an intelligence-based operation in Karak district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to security sources, the operation was carried out after intelligence confirmed the presence of the Mullah Nazir group in the remote Dareshk region. Units from the Pakistan Army, Special Services Group (SSG), and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) jointly took part in the mission.
The operation stretched over two days as forces encircled the terrorists in a difficult mountainous area. By the end of the offensive, 17 fighters had been killed and over 10 sustained serious injuries. The fierce exchange also left at least three security officers injured.
