A horrific traffic accident in the Dhanasar area of Dera Ismail Khan claimed the lives of 11 members of the same family on Friday.
The tragedy occurred when a vehicle suffered brake failure while traveling from Khanozai in Balochistan to Dera Ismail Khan.
Accident and immediate loss of life
According to reports, the vehicle met with an accident at Dhanasar after its brakes failed on the steep route. Seven people, including five women, one man, and a child, died on the spot. All the bodies were shifted to the hospital after conducting the necessary formalities.
Rescue 1122 officials rushed to the scene and began operations immediately. Three injured passengers were given first aid on-site before being shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital.
Casualties and injuries
In total, 11 family members lost their lives in the accident. While Rescue 1122 recovered seven bodies from the scene, four more critically injured victims were transported to the hospital through local sources but later succumbed to their injuries.
The deceased included women, children, and men from the same family, making it one of the deadliest traffic tragedies in the region in recent months.
Identities of the Injured
Among the injured were Darya Khan, Ahmed, and 10-year-old Yousuf. They received first aid from Rescue 1122 before being shifted to the hospital. Their condition was later reported stable by medical teams.
Rescue and Relief Operations
Rescue 1122 confirmed that all bodies were shifted to the hospital after completing necessary procedures. Four bodies were transported through local assistance, while the rest were moved by Rescue 1122 ambulances.
