The Balochistan High Court has granted bail to accused Sardar Sherbaz Satakzai, who was arrested in connection with the murder of a man and a woman in Degari earlier this year.
The decision was announced on Monday by Justice Iqbal Kasi, who approved the bail against a personal bond of Rs500,000.

The case was taken up by the court following a petition filed by Satakzai. Advocate Akram Shah appeared on his behalf and presented arguments in support of the bail plea. The court, after hearing the submissions, ruled in favour of granting bail.

Background of murder case
Police had earlier arrested Sardar Satakzai along with others in connection with the Degari double murder case. The incident gained attention after disturbing videos surfaced showing the killing of a man and a woman, prompting swift law enforcement action.
Back in July, a shocking video of a couple being shot dead in an 'honour' killing sparked widespread outrage. The video, which surfaced on social media over, showed the couple being brutally murdered by unidentified individuals.

The double murder, which occurred just days before Eid-ul-Adha, involved the public killing of Bano Bibi and a young man in the Degari area of Quetta. The gruesome incident shocked the nation after footage of the crime surfaced on social media, sparking widespread outrage.
Balochistan Chief Minister Sardar Sarfaraz Bugti had taken notice of the incident and ordered immediate action. Several arrests have been made in connection with the case so far, including that of tribal elder Sardar Sherbaz Satakzai, who is currently in police custody on a 10-day physical remand.

According to Dr. Ayesha Faiz, a police surgeon at Civil Hospital Quetta, the post-mortem of Bano Bibi and Ehsanullah Samalani revealed that the woman was shot seven times, while the man was shot nine times, causing their deaths. The gruesome incident reportedly occurred on June 4, she reported.
On July 21, the Balochistan High Court had taken suo motu notice of the alleged honour killing.
