Legendary Pakistani actor Tauqeer Nasir, known for his stellar performances in classics like 'Yaad Piya Ki Aye', 'Thakan', 'Sona Chandi' and 'Landa Bazaar', has revealed that Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn’s acting style has long been inspired by him.
The revelation came during a candid interview on a local digital platform.
Ajay Devgn’s acting style inspired by Tauqeer Nasir
Speaking about Devgn, Nasir said, “I don’t know why he copies me; he has been doing it for years. I haven’t contacted him, nor has he contacted me. Many people told me that he has mentioned my name in the interviews, which is true. It is a big thing, because here people rarely acknowledge their inspirations. It is his greatness that he mentioned my name.”
He praised Devgn’s humility for openly crediting him, calling it rare for actors to acknowledge those who inspired them. Nasir also revealed that he himself drew inspiration from the legendary Waheed Murad.
Noticing similarities in Devgn’s performances
After learning of Devgn’s admiration, Nasir said he watched several of his films, including Omkara. “I did notice some resemblance in his work, especially in the way he uses his eyes to express emotions, just as I do. Eyes are the strongest tool in acting, as they create a powerful impact. Acting isn’t a joke,” he explained.
