Train operations faced disruption on Saturday as the Pakistan Railways cancelled the Quetta-Peshawar Jaffar Express citing security concerns.
The cancellation affected both directions, with the Peshawar-to-Quetta service also failing to depart.
Jaffar Express halted
Railway officials confirmed that the Jaffar Express scheduled to leave Quetta for Peshawar did not depart. Similarly, the return service from Peshawar to Quetta was also cancelled due to the same security issues.
Bolan Mail service affected
Adding to the disruption, the Bolan Mail from Quetta to Karachi was also cancelled on Saturday. No official timeline has yet been announced regarding when services might resume.
Chaman Passenger departs as scheduled
Despite the cancellations, officials clarified that the Chaman Passenger train left Quetta for Chaman on time. This was the only passenger train to operate on schedule from Quetta amid heightened security measures.
