Chanesar Town Chairman Farhan Ghani - brother of Sindh Minister Saeed Ghani- and two others were released on Saturday after the complainant in a case of violence and threats withdrew his complaint.
According to defence lawyer Waqar Alam Abbasi, the plaintiff Sohail Ahmed submitted a written application to the investigating officer stating he no longer wished to pursue the case.
Following the withdrawal, police released the accused from the Ferozabad police station without producing them before court.
“The investigating officer will now submit a report to the court regarding their release,” Abbasi said.
Case details
The accused had been in custody after the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) remanded them till August 30. The case was registered under sections of terrorism, attempted murder, and criminal intimidation.
In the FIR, Sohail Ahmed alleged that while supervising fiber optic cable work on Shara-e-Faisal Service Road on August 22, he was attacked by 20–25 armed men in three vehicles. He claimed that despite identifying himself, he was beaten and threatened with death.

Surrender and remand
Following the registration of the case, Farhan Ghani and several associates surrendered at Firozabad police station. The court initially granted a one-day transit remand, which was later extended by the ATC.
