Torrential rains and flash floods have wreaked havoc across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, claiming 194 lives in the past 24 hours alone.
The provincial disaster toll now exceeds 300, with 23 injured and hundreds of homes damaged, according to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
Rising death toll and damage
The NDMA reported that among those who died in the last 24 hours were 158 men, 19 women, and 17 children. Flooding and rains on Friday also destroyed 118 houses and killed 43 livestock. Rescue teams are actively searching for missing persons in affected areas.

PM directs relief efforts
On the orders of the prime minister, an NDMA team has arrived in Peshawar to oversee relief and rescue operations. Officials confirmed that supplies are being coordinated with the provincial government and civil and military institutions. Relief activities are being monitored round the clock to ensure timely assistance reaches those in need.
Public advisory and landslide risks
Authorities have warned of further landslides in northern districts. Tourists and locals are advised not to travel to northern areas for the next five to six days due to ongoing risks. The NDMA urged residents to exercise caution near rivers, streams, and unstable slopes.
