Gilgit-Balistan Chief Minister has demanded Rs7billion aid from the centre in a bid to revive the devastated infrastructure from the flash floods in the region.
Addressing a press conference, GB Chief Minister Gulbar Khan said that the provincial government is having limited resources to address the situation following the floods. The GB CM has invited the prime minister to visit the flood-stricken areas.
The GB chief minister said: "The seven districts have been badly affected from the floods. Diamer has been badly devastated from the floods."
"The infrastructure of over Rs20 billion has been devastated due to the floods," he added.
He reiterated the demand of getting aid to revive the power projects and collapsed bridges and overcome the water challenges.
"As of now, 10 people have been killed and four injured due to the floods," he said.
