Sindh government’s development budget documents for the fiscal year 2025-26 have been revealed, outlining a total allocation of Rs. 1,018 billion for development projects across the province.
According to documents, the provincial development budget has been set at Rs. 520 billion, while the district development budget stands at Rs. 55 billion. Additionally, Rs. 366 billion will come through foreign-funded projects, and Rs. 76 billion will be received from the Federal Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).
The documents also disclose that the non-development budget will amount to Rs. 2 trillion. Out of the total development budget, Rs. 400 billion will be allocated for 3,642 development schemes.
For 3,161 ongoing projects, Rs. 331 billion has been earmarked, while Rs. 119 billion will be allocated for 481 new development projects.
With the inclusion of current fiscal year allocations, the size of the Annual Development Programme (ADP) is expected to reach Rs. 1,264 billion. The current fiscal year’s development budget stood at Rs. 1,165 billion, with 100% disbursement planned for 1,350 schemes.
The budget includes Rs366 billion in foreign assistance for 27 projects, with Rs. 44 billion as Sindh government's share. The federal government will provide Rs. 76 billion in matching grants for 10 projects.
