The federal government has earmarked a record Rs1,000 billion for the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) in the upcoming fiscal year 2025-26, with major allocations going to infrastructure, energy, education, and provincial uplift projects, according to official documents obtained by Samaa TV.
Out of the total development budget, Rs682.79 billion will be spent on development schemes of 41 federal ministries and divisions, while Rs317.20 billion has been allocated for two major corporations — primarily for infrastructure and energy-related projects.
Key allocations:

National Highway Authority (NHA) will receive the largest chunk of Rs227 billion for road construction and maintenance across the country.

The Power Division and NTDC are set to get over Rs90 billion to strengthen the national grid and power transmission systems.

Rs133.42 billion have been earmarked for water resources, reflecting a strong focus on water security and irrigation projects.

Rs70 billion have been allocated for development schemes proposed by members of parliament.
Funds for provinces and special areas
The federal government has also allocated more than Rs253 billion in development funding for the provinces and special areas:
