Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) leader Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said on Sunday that the nation is indebted to Field Marshal Gen Syed Asim Munir for uniting the people at a critical time in the country’s history.
Speaking at a commemorative event, Awan paid tribute to the martyrs of Bunyan-un-Marsoos, honouring their sacrifices. “We stand with the children of the martyrs and veterans of Bunyan-un-Marsoos,” she said.
Awan emphasised that the blood sacrificed for the country will never be forgotten. “Today’s programme is dedicated to the mothers whose sons laid down their lives for the motherland,” she added.
“This is a clear message that wars are not won by weapons alone, but by the strength of spirit and emotion,” she said, while lauding Field Marshal Asim Munir for his military success on the battlefield.
She also lavished her praise on gold medalist Arshad Nadeem, saying, “Yesterday, Arshad Nadeem had raised the nation's head high with pride through his victory.”
